Billing and usage

Guided users

[object Object]

A guided user is a unique end user who was shown at least one guide during the billing month.

  • Counted per workspace, across all its apps.
  • Each person counts once a month, however many guides they see.
  • Not counted: visitors who load the SDK but never see a guide, development environments, dashboard previews and preview links.

Identity

When you call identify, the user is the (hashed) id you passed, so one person on two devices counts once. Without identify, each device counts separately.

Exact, not sampled

Every guide_shown event inserts the user into the month's meter if they are not in it yet. The number on your bill is a count of those rows, not an estimate.

Where to see it

Settings › Usage & billing shows the meter, the free 10% buffer, and a month-end forecast. The sidebar shows it too.
